12 Nov BIG OMMA News!
“Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. ‘It’s a ghost,’ they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’ ‘Lord, if it’s you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:25-29)
Some of you may remember, a little more than 2 years ago when we took a step of faith and left the “safety” of teaching at Avalon Church and opened up our current Dojo location in Alafaya Village. There were some risks, but we believed it was the Lord’s direction and He has faithfully provided for us over these past 25 months since we’ve been at our current location. He didn’t let us drown. 🙂
Recently we have realized that to fully accomplish all we desire to do in making OMMA an increasingly excellent program to exalt Christ in and through the world of martial arts, we needed additional space. Although God has been blessing us with steady growth, we aren’t yet operating from a position of any significant financial strength. So it has seemed unlikely that we’d be able to expand, even with the empty spaces around our Dojo.
However, not long ago the landlord gave us an “offer we couldn’t refuse.” It was a deal that is one I don’t imagine we will see again, so we have prayerfully decided to step out of the proverbial boat a second time to expand the Dojo into the suite next door.
AS OF THIS WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14th WE WILL HAVE CONTROL OF THE SPACE NEXT DOOR & BEGIN EXPANDING OUR DOJO INTO THAT AREA!!
There is much work and planning to do over the last few weeks of the year, but our desire is to start 2013 with an expanded Dojo twice the size of our current space! This will benefit our current students in many exciting ways which we will be sharing with you in the days to come.
In the meantime, we could use your help to make this expansion a success for all of our benefit and ultimately to the GLORY of our Heavenly Father! Here is how you might help if you are in a position to do so:
(1) PRAY: Please lift up this whole process to the Lord – that He would guide every aspect of the expansion.
(2) If you have a skill/gift in the areas of construction, electrical, painting, etc. we could definitely use assistance to build out the new space in a professional, excellent way without “busting our budget.”
(3) We will be scheduling some cleaning, organizing and painting days, so perhaps you and your family might consider joining us for one of these times.
